Strolling through the city of San Francisco yesterday I stumbled upon a small farm right in the middle of the City. The gates were open and I let myself in to find a table full of fresh produce in the front and many raised beds with growing veggies behind it. Asking the nice lady behind the table what it was all about, I was told that all the veggies on the table are free. The farm's mission is to provide people, especially those in need with fresh organic seasonal produce and they are always looking for volunteers. So i signed up. |
After telling about it to my kids I was happy to hear they want to join me in volunteering. I left the farm with few radishes, green beans, parsley, and collard, and a full heart of joy and happiness. Thinking of what to make out of my veggies, I came up with this amazing and easy to make refreshing salad. I hope you enjoy it. It's perfect on a hot summer day. It has no oil, though you may add the oil of your choice if you wish.
